Fanfiction
Simply put: Fanfiction is the constraint (or lack thereof) of fictitious written expression into a universe that has already been created and published under copyright. Taking that definition, Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within fanfiction can be defined as the stories written by We Who Do Not Own It. Thus, we disclaim all misplaced ideas that this is for money... indeed, for anything but our enjoyment and non-corporeal character torture.
