Palisades - Action Figures

Palisades' TSW figure line is very lovely.  The overall style makes each figure seem hand-crafted, which could very well be the case.  From the faux leather of Hein's leather jacket to Ryan's Salvation Lies Above sticker collection, the details on the final products are astounding.

The Details; The Details!

Ahem.  Or, in any case, the attempt is quite professional.  The line runs Aki, Gray, Sid, Hein - with Ryan and Jane having been marketing ploys to get you to Toys R' Us, or to order from ToyFair magazine.  The back of the box lists the Phantom, which was never released past prototype form.  And, unfortunately, Palisades specifically stated in their FAQ that there would be no Neil figure of the line (see Conspiracies)... and I guess, in that case, Elliott is right out.

Does not do figures justice!

The figures boast lots of articulation (?), but many times this seems thwarted by the outfits, of which removal seems out of the question (!).  I had messed with one of mine to figure out this cunundrum (that is, the so mentioned 'articulate ankle' that happened to be covered by a tough as heck boot), but swiftly realized that the only way to remove it was to crack the offending footwear, which I didn't want to do.  Likewise, the cloth clothing is tightly sewn on, so for any change of costume for these figures, I'd recommend a spare.

Although, I have noticed that some people have little trouble with it.  At least one person has stuck Sid in a hand-knit sweater.

Palisades announced these figures sold out in August of 2001.  They remained in stores awhile, but have since dwindled to the point of either comics and collectables stores (if you're lucky) or the internet alternatives.
